Running Backs from the 2026 season ranked by share of their team's offensive plays. A genuine workhorse clears 65%. A committee back lives between 35% and 55%, and anything under 30% is a specialist who needs a touchdown to matter.

73 running backs with at least four games played, 2026 regular season.
Running back is where snap share pays for itself. Backfields split work in ways box scores hide, and a back with twelve carries can be a 40% player who got a favourable script rather than a lead back. The share tells you which one you are starting next week.
Passing-down work is the difference between a floor and a coin flip. Backs who stay on the field on third down accumulate routes and check-downs every week, so their bad games are quiet rather than empty: worth far more in PPR than the raw carry count suggests.
This is also the position where rising snap share is most actionable on waivers. A backup climbing from 25% to 50% over a month is usually being handed the job, and that move shows up here before it shows up in fantasy points.
