Zay Flowers Is a Smash, CMC Is a Trap, and Braelon Allen Is About to Eat: Your Week 4 Cheat Sheet
The Smash Start Nobody's Talking About
Zay Flowers. I know you're debating him. Don't. Tennessee's defense ranks 31st against wide receivers this season, and Baltimore is projected for 26.1 adjusted points as a team. Flowers is sitting in lineups across the country with question marks next to his name, and that's your edge. Start him with confidence. The matchup is as good as it gets in the NFL right now, and when Lamar Jackson is cooking against a 31st-ranked defense, Flowers is the first beneficiary. He's a top-12 play this week, minimum.
Jonathan Taylor is the other one. Washington ranks 29th against running backs, and Taylor is projecting at 23.7 adjusted points with a Vegas implied total of 23 for Indianapolis. His consistency score sits at 99.6. That's not a fluke, that's a workhorse who is going to run through a porous defense on Sunday. If you're sitting him for someone sexier, you're making a mistake.
The Fade of the Week
Christian McCaffrey. I get it. He's CMC. But Denver's defense ranks 1st against running backs this week. First. He's projecting just 16.5 adjusted points and the matchup rating is flat out avoid. This is the week McCaffrey becomes a game-time decision for your lineup that costs you. If you have a viable alternative, use it. The matchup data is screaming.
Waiver Wire Adds Worth Your FAAB
Braelon Allen is the real deal here. Breece Hall is out with a thigh injury and not playing this week. Allen is projecting 12.77 points as the presumed lead back, and he was already added in over 320,000 leagues in the last 24 hours. If he's still on your wire, drop whoever your RB3 is and grab him now.
Kenyon Sadiq is the other one. The Jets' tight end role was a black hole and now Sadiq has primary role confirmation with a 9.45 projection. That number climbs as he settles in. Add him in 12-team leagues without hesitation.
The Injury to Watch
Jayden Daniels is out with a dislocated elbow. That's not a week-to-week thing, that's potentially significant time. Washington's backup steps into one of the hardest remaining schedules in football. The real beneficiary here is Jonathan Taylor, who just drew an already-weak Washington defense without their starting quarterback. His upside this week just went up another notch.
